Fishing off NAS Whitbey Island

The other day went out halibut fishing off Naval Air Station Whitbey Island where an EA-6B was doing some touch and go's. It was having more success than our fishing since we did not catch anything.

Updated Decor - Japanese Imari

Sue hung up some of the Japanese Imari plates today to help accessorise the bedroom. Who knows what is next?

European Visitors

We were excited to learn that our Belgian friends and former neighbors, Claude and Elizabeth, are planning to visit us in August! They are the people who we have been spending New Years the last years with in Normandy in their lovely mansion. We are very excited about the visit and this will be only the second time that our European friends have visited us at Samish Island (the first were Jean-Pierre and Marie-Paule last year. Tradition is that we ask our visitors to bring a flag of their country/state so that we can fly it on the flag pole overlooking the beach (fortunately for Claude, our previous Belgian visitors had already brought one).

As the dollar continues to tank against the Euro we hope more of our European visitors will be coming to the U.S.

Sue's Headboard

Well here is the finished project: a padded custom headboard encased in vertical grained fir wood for our bedroom (the accented blue wall color was also part of the project.) Sue thanks neighbor /friend Jerry Kenaston for some of his professional woodworking assistance. Now on to the next project, whose materials happen to have been delivered today.
